Savage Beauty

I am forever jealous of anyone who is able to see these incredible pieces up close at the Met Costume Institute’s Alexander McQueen exhibit… beyond extraordinary.

Here Comes The Bride

All dressed in something boring, probably. I’d be lying if I told you that I was looking forward to the Royal Wedding, but in its honour I wanted to share some of my dream wedding dresses! Now if only Mr Teacups would pop the question & become filthy rich…

Alexander McQueen Fall 2006

To me, this dress is timeless. The silhouette would be flattering on any size or shape, the long sleeves keep it formal but not stuffy, and those ruffles, oooooh those ruffles! Delicate but decidedly un-frou frou. Plus the off-white makes a change for those not quite so virginial among us!

Star Spangled Fingers

You may recall that a few weeks ago I fell in love with glitter nail polish. As I type I’m wearing Mavala’s Mexico, a rich and deep plum. But it’s not glittery, much to my chagrin. And that, beautiful blog reader, is why I must share with you my glittery nail polish porn:

From left: Deborah Lippman’s Happy Birthday/Barry M’s Once Upon A Time/OPI’s Teenage Dream/Orly’s Tiara/Models Own’s Magenta Divine

Aren’t they gorgeous?! I lust after them so deeply that I wonder if I’ll ever go back to boring ol’ nail paints. Have you tried glittery nail polish? (And if you have, what’s your favourite one? Feed my addiction!)

Brief Interlude

Firstly, huge apologies for the absence… it’s been a week since my last update, which is due to a combination of stresses. Hopefully things are on the up now.

I went back to my Mum’s for a weekend of relaxation. Reading, ice lollies and cats.

A proper post will be coming soon (I promise), but in the meantime I updated ViT’s about page, so if you’re on Twitter, Tumblr, Goodreads, etc. please come follow or add me :)

An Apology to Florals

Dear florals,

I said I wouldn’t wear you this year. It was the heat of the moment, in protest of you mocking me all through the winter – shoving your colourful joviality in my face during the cold and  rainy months. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it. I love the way you are unapologetically girly. I love the way you suit all sizes and shapes. I love the way you still make me look quite elegant even when I’m swaying after too many late afternoon cocktails.

Please forgive me.

Love,

3 Homes I Wish I Lived In

I’m currently saving up for my own place, and as an interior design nerd I adore seeing what other people do with their humble abodes; especially unusual buildings. Here’s 3 of my favourites.

The Boathouse, Cornwall

So fresh, light and modern! I especially like the outside decking – perfect for a summer barbecue or sunbathe.
